Cool Season Flowers Fall Planting
Cool Season Hardy Annuals
First heard about this from Lisa Mason Ziegler on Instagram.
Plant in the fall to get established and bloom earlier in the spring. Plant out six to eight weeks before first frost, so in Zone 5 August 18- Sept 1

So I started some rudbeckia on July 27 with no stratification and they did great. Came right up and grew really fast. I planted them out in the porch beds on September 28.
I also was really successful with the stratified rudbeckia and coneflower. They are ready to get hardened off and be in the ground the first week of October, which is perhaps a bit too late.
